Rufus Benjamin "Ben" Burch, 69, of Grand Ridge died Monday, March 21, 2016 at his home.
A native and life long resident of Grand Ridge, Mr. Burch was a US Navy veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a retired corrections officer with the State of Florida and attended New Beginnings Worship Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents J. D. and Lois Ray Burch; two brothers, John "JC" and Donald Burch; one sister, Alma Ruth Camper.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Burch of Grand Ridge; one son, David Burch and wife, Jamie Sue of Marianna; two daughters, Rhonda Gibson of Grand Ridge and Jessica LaDue and husband, David of Lillington, NC; one brother, Cecil Burch and wife, Reginia of Lake Alfred, FL; two sisters, Doris Murkerson of Cocoa, FL and Mary Klien of Sarasota; two sister-in-laws, Norma Burch and Janie Burch; grandchildren, Trevor and Audrey Stephens, Megan and Logan Shirah, Molly Brown, Gabby Burch; one great grandson, Nathenial Stephens; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2016 at New Beginnings Worship Center with Rev. Mike Daniels officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel will be directing. Sneads American Legion post 241 will provide military honors.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until funeral time at New Beginnings Worship Center.
