Barbara Jean Kirkland

Barbara Jean Kirkland, 69, of Cottondale died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Jackson Hospital. Born in Ft. Meyers, FL, Mrs. Kirkland had resided in Jackson County for many years and attended New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Fanny McDonald Thompson. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Johnny C. Kirkland, Sr.; one daughter, Krystal Kirkland both of Cottondale; one son, Johnny C. Kirkland, Jr. of Marianna; three grandchildren, Levi Kirkland, Ashley Cavanagh and Rebecca Nix; four great grandchildren, Alice and Sophie Cavanagh, Nathan and Evan Wilson. A Memorial service will be at 2 pm Saturday October 4, 2014 at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Jacob. Memorization will be by cremation with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
