Aubrey Vernon Free. 75, of Lakeland, Fl. died Thursday, September 11, 2008, in Lakeland. Born in Calhoun County, Mr. Free had resided in Lakeland for the past 13 years. He was a retired U. S. Army veteran having served in Korean and two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elom and Lillie Sewell Free; three brothers, Barney Lee, Leonard L. and Arthur Free; two sisters, Margie Hughes and Odie Goodson Lainer. Survivors include one son, Aubrey Vernon Free, Jr.; one sister, Vivian Taylor of Alford; one brother, William Burl Free and wife Joyce of Plant City. Funeral will be 2 pm Monday, September 15, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. Wyatt Shiver officiating, burial will follow at New Shiloh Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. "
