Aubrey Wendell Adams

Aubrey Wendell "Buddy" Adams, 64, of Cottondale died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at his home. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Adams was a National Guard veteran and a life long self employed trucker and a mentor to many in the trucking industry. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Julia Griffin Adams and the Aunt and Uncle who raised him, Frank and Clara Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Adams of Cottondale; two daughters, Julie Rister of Daleville, Al and Deidra Adams, US Army, Afghanistan; four grandchildren, Jonathan Swearingin, US. Army, Ft. Rucker, Marcus Swearingin, USMC, Camp LeJeune, Timothy Deese and Taye Griffin. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Maddox Chapel with Rev. James Lamb officiating, burial will follow at Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday May 28, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. "
