Arthur J. Mayo, 89, of Round Lake died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at his home.
Arthur was born in Lynn Haven, lived in California for six years and then Round Lake most of his life. Arthur was a member of Round Lake Baptist Church and worked for Lehigh Furniture in Marianna for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Jewel Mayo; parents, Arthur & Flossie Mayo; two brothers, Delma Mayo & L. W. "Pete" Mayo; grandson, Jerry Gay; daughter-in-law, Lela Mayo.
He is survived by two daughters, Earma J. Hendrix and husband, Willard of Marianna, Janet L. Stokes of Round Lake; three sons, Millard L. Gay of Alford; William Alfred Gay and wife, Debbie, Eddie F. Mayo all of Round Lake; one brother, L.D. "Buck" Mayo of Altha; four sisters, Myrtis Mayo of Round Lake, Francis Rowe of Paris, AR, Doris Neely of Alford, Barbara Anderson of Ozark, AR; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Round Lake Baptist Church with Revs. Ronnie Wright and Larry Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Round Lake Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation, Thursday, October 15, 2015 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Round Lake Baptist Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
