James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Annie Ruth Cindrick Melvin, 91 of Marianna, departed this life to be with Jesus Christ her Savior, on Thursday, May 16, 2013. She retired after over 19 years of service at Sunland in Marianna. She was a wonderful wife, magnificent cook and a beloved mother; who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jack Kenneth Melvin; a son, Douglas Louis Melvin; a daughter, Mary Ann Melvin Roberts; a grandson Bryan Daniel Breur; and a great grandson, Hunter James Melvin. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Roy Melvin and wife Frances and a daughter Toni Joy Melvin, all of Marianna. Survivors also include grandchildren, Rhoda Breuer and husband Ron of Louisiana; Keith Roberts of Orlando; Steven Roberts and wife Lori of Cross City; Douglas Shane Melvin (COB-US Coast Guard); Sgt. Adam Melvin (US Air Force) and wife Allison of Panama City; Clay Smith and wife Terry, of Texas; David Smith and special friend Cathy of Grand Ridge; Amanda Rabon and husband Joey of Grand Ridge; Cindy Neel and husband Jeffrey of Grand Ridge. Other survivors are son-in-law Ernest B. Roberts; daughter-in-law Margaret Melvin; two sisters, Catherine Sprayberry and husband Denny and Ann Fowler, all of Georgia; one sister-in-law Mildred Cindrick of Stockbridge; three nieces, Dorothy Ann Sheldon and husband Gordon of South Carolina; Norma Stoehr and Bonnie Steigner of Pennsylvania. 12 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her many beloved friends of Christian Center Church. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Christian Center Church with Revs. Jack Hollis, Gino Mayo and John Rollyson officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
