James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Annie L. Carter, 88, of Grand Ridge died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, M.B. Johnson, second husband, Paris Carter; parents, Pearly and Mary Sewell Brooks; two sisters, Bertie Whitus and Fannie Hutchinson. She is survived by one son, Lewis Dewayne Johnson and wife, Kara of Sneads; two daughters, Mary Linda Cain and husband, Joe, Janice Hamilton and husband, Buddy all of Grand Ridge; four brothers, Leon, Lewis, Richard and James Brooks; three sisters, Margie Tatum, Annette Hagan and Ruby Mercer; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
