Annette Jansenius, age 66, of Cottondale passed away Friday morning, November 15, 2013 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, Annette worked in a nursing home setting since 1982, serving as Administrator of Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard for 15 years. During that time, she impacted the lives of both residents and staff. Annette participated in various community service events such as Relay for Life. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Signature Healthcare in April 2009, as a testament to her passion for improving the quality of life for senior citizens. Annette organized several outings for the residents, such as fishing at her home and boat rides down the Chipola River. She loved cooking for her family, fishing, Pepsi in a can, and trips to Biloxi. Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious and Claudia Estelle Tice Barnes. Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Arthur Jansenius; one son, Dwayne Jansenius and wife Lorraine; one daughter, Deena Johnson and husband Leon all of Cottondale; two brothers, Frankie Barnes and wife Brenda of Gordon, AL, Freddie Barnes and wife Harriet of Cottondale; five grandsons, Jason Jansenius and wife Amanda of Compass Lake, Justin Johnson of Tallahassee, Jeremy Jansenius of Tallahassee, Jonathan Jansenius of Panama City, and Joshua Johnson of Cottondale; four great-grandchildren, Kordal Kimbril, Kenzie Jansenius, Hayley Jansenius and Harper Jansenius all of Compass Lake; one sister-in-law Julia Montin of Vernon; one brother-in-law H.B. Jansenius, Jr. and wife Annette of South Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will at 10 am Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Monday, November 18, 2103 at Maddox Chapel.
