Alva Kenn Mercer

Alva Kenn Mercer, 50, of Marianna died Monday, Janaury 7, 2008 at Jackson Hospital. Born in Chattahoochee, Mr. Mercer was a long time resident of Marianna and was the owner/operator of Marianna Pawn and Gun Shop and an avid hunter. Survivors include three daughters, Jessica Queen Mercer; Jennifer Mercer Cloud and husband Shane, Jordan Michelle Mercer all of Dellwood; two grandchildren, Keileigh Makenna Cloud and Nikki Denea Neel; his mothers, Hazel Green Boyd and Edna Mercer; his father, Henry Mercer; five brothers, Tim Mercer and wife Gladys of Dellwood, Roger Boyd of Atlanta and Allen Boyd of Montgomery, Dewayne Cook and wife Marsha of Pensacola, Johnny Seay and wife Lisa of Marianna; one sister, Sharon Johns of Marianna; special friends, Sonja Justice and Glen Basford; a host of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church near Dellwood with Rev. Shawn Crosby, Bro. Bell and Rev. Jerome Lewis officiating, burial will follow at Dellwood Cemetery, James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Maddox Chapel. If Desired, contributation maybe made to Covent Hospice of Marianna in Mr. Mercer's name.
