Alice Pauline "Miss Polly" Jansen

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Alice Pauline Jackson Jansen, 87, of Jackson County, Florida, affectionately known as "Miss Polly", went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was a native of Dellwood, Fl., member of the Sneads Christian Fellowship, and was active in the Hatton House residence council where she had served as past president. Miss Polly was a devoted Christian and always had a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Carlton Jackson, and by her 2nd husband, Herman Jansen; her parents, Rainey and Viola Mercer Jackson; her step-mother, Earnestine Jackson; one infant son, James Carlton Jackson, Jr.; one grandson, Joseph Dale Lawrence, and one sister, Hazel Baker. Survivors include one son, Jerry Jackson and wife, Jackie, of Macon, MS.; three daughters, Linda Hubert and husband, Ed, of Tallahassee, Alice Banes and husband, Mabry, and Donna Jackson, all of Grand Ridge; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Sweet Pond Road, Dellwood, with Rev. Charles Riddles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral at the church.
