Albert Smith

James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel Albert Washington Smith, Jr., of Marianna died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Albert served as a Staff Sergeant in the Florida National Guard. In 1995 he retired from the State of Florida Division of Recreation & Parks. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for more than 17 years. Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Eugene Smith and two infant brothers; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Baker and Bessie Ruth McPherson. Survivors include his wife, Mable Stephens Smith; two sons, Stephen Larry Smith and wife, Beth, of Chattahoochee, Chuck Smith and wife, Cindi, of Marianna; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 pm, Monday, May 19, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church in Marianna with Rev. Roland Rabon and E. L. Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Dykes Cemetery in Grand Ridge with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Building Fund or Covenant Hospice, 4215 Kelson Ave. Suite E, Marianna, FL.
