Albert L. (Bert) Andrews

Albert L. (Bert) Andrews passed away on September 25, 2014 at Signature Healthcare in Marianna, Florida. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 26, 1919, but spent most of his life in Lake County, Florida. In school, Bert excelled in sports, and even played minor league baseball after graduation. During WWII, Bert was a gunner in an air crew and earned an Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with 6 Bronze Stars. After the war, he became a building contractor in Eustis, Florida where he and his wife, Lois, raised four children. Bert moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida in the mid 1970's to take a job as a superintendent with a commercial building company. It was there, in 1977, that his wife, Lois, passed away. Several years later, Bert and his new wife, Joan, retired in Marianna, Florida. Albert L. Andrews is survived by his four children, Ron Andrews, Sylvia Andrews, Albert Andrews, and Alan Andrews; four step-children, Melissa Spicer, Matthew Lein, Eric Lein, and Toray Lein; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis, Florida at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 Expressions of sympathy may be made online at www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
